Brief

Sew is an encompassing app for your eco-friendly clothes recycling solutions. Use no longer worn clothes in your wardrobe to craft most fashion styles on any reusable fabric, including different cutting skills, how to repurpose different materials, re-style, etc. Interactive tutorials will guide you to become eco-friendly clothes upcycle master.

Problem

Did you know that by wearing a t-shirt or pair of jeans four times more than usual, you can save up to 75% of the freshwater that would have been used for producing the garment? Additionally, by prolonging the use of your clothing items by only three months, you can reduce their carbon, waste, and water footprint by 5-10%.

I genuinely believe that our actions, as well as the people, businesses, and organizations we choose to support, can make a positive impact on our environment. That's why I aim to educate and inspire fashion and craft enthusiasts to adopt a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Goals

  • Easy to find ideas for upcycling clothes, easy to follow step-by-step learning, list of materials, provide online or locations for a shopping list.

  • Able to create a mood board for fashion ideas.

Key Conclusions

  1. The ambiguous task label caused the tester to struggle with selecting an appropriate option.

  2. I think the slider on the side of the page is unnecessary.

  3. Consider revising both the icon and the content.

  4. Adding a persistent navigation bar would provide a clearer understanding of the website's structure.

  5. To facilitate the process, consider organizing a sitemap and removing unnecessary steps.

  6. I would suggest reorganizing the product page to manage it better and present additional information about the item. This will provide users with more detailed insights.

  7. Add the user icon.
